Why Won't My Lifetime Code Validate?

If you entered a lifetime deal code and saw "Invalid or expired deal code" — or another message that stopped you from redeeming — this article covers the common causes and what to do about each.

For security, the validation screen shows the same generic message for most failures rather than revealing why a specific code didn't work. The list below explains what's usually behind it.


"Invalid or expired deal code"

This single message covers several situations:

  • A typo in the code. Codes are not case-sensitive, but every character matters. Re-enter it carefully — copy and paste directly from your purchase email rather than typing it by hand.

  • The code has already been redeemed. Every lifetime code is single-use. Once it's been redeemed — by you or, if you received it secondhand, by someone before you — it can't be redeemed again.

  • The code is no longer active or has expired. Some promotional codes have a validity window. If yours has lapsed, contact us with your purchase details.

If you've double-checked for typos and the code still won't validate, contact support (below) with the exact code and where you purchased it.


"This code has already been redeemed on this workspace"

You're trying to redeem a code that's already applied to the workspace you selected. Each code can only be applied to one workspace, once. If you meant to stack a different code, enter that one instead. If you meant to redeem on a different workspace, select that workspace from the dropdown.


"Cannot stack lifetime code: workspace has an active subscription"

Lifetime codes can be redeemed on workspaces that are on a trial or already lifetime — not on a workspace with an active paid subscription. If you want to combine a subscription with lifetime benefits, see Adding a Paid Subscription to Your Lifetime Workspace. Otherwise, redeem on a different workspace or one that's still on trial.


"Add-on codes can only be redeemed on workspaces with existing lifetime codes"

Some codes are add-on codes — they boost an existing lifetime workspace rather than create one. Redeem at least one standard lifetime code on the workspace first, then apply the add-on code.


"Too many attempts, please slow down" / "Validation limit reached"

To protect against abuse, we limit how many invalid validation attempts can be made in a short period. If you hit this:

  • Wait a minute and try again with the correct code (successful redemptions don't count against the limit).

  • If you've genuinely run out of attempts and have a valid code that won't go through, contact support and we'll redeem it for you directly.
