How to use widget actions

Version: DashboardFox v12

Role: Agent and higher

Permission:  Agent with modify view permission to the dashboard


Each widget has a menu with different actions:

Info Hover – The hover over will display the description of the report.  

View – it displays the widget in the Report Details view where a user can focus on the report, print, export, and have access to more data options like the chart wizard and data grid filtering options.    

 

Reorder – This is only available to users that have modification permission to the dashboard. Not shown to view only users   


 

Action Menu– provides additional widget action options      


 

  • Edit Widget – Edit widget settings and such name type. This is only available to users that have modification permission to the dashboard.  Not shown to view only users.
  • Delete Widget¬ – Deletes a widget. This is only available to users that have modification permission to the dashboard.  Not shown to view only users.
  • Refresh Widget – Reloads the data in the widget.
  • Clear Saved Preferences – If the widget report has a prompt and the user saved a default prompt preference, this option will clear that saved preference to redisplay the prompt.  This configuration of a dashboard widget is only for rare use cases.
  • Refresh Prompts – For widgets that have a report prompt, this action will redisplay the prompt after a selection has been made.  This configuration of a dashboard widget is only for rare use cases.
